Slow down and evaluate what you are doing and where you are going. The importance of deciding to rest, re-evaluate, and stay focused.

“We are human BEings not human DOings.” - John Bradshaw (Healing the Shame that Binds You)
When I first heard of this quote recently, it has always been a reminder for me to keep my priorities clear when it comes to the various aspects of my life. Sometimes in life we get too focused on all the doing, and have placed our self-care in the backseat. One of the scenarios we will be faced when neglecting our self-care is that we would come to a sudden halt, and realize that we are so stressed out by all that we are doing and we find ourselves really really busy.
Busyness does not equals to being productive!
Now the question is, what are we really busy for? What’s all these busyness about? What’s the reason for our busyness? Do remember, busy doesn’t equate to being productive! ❌
Some of us are very passionate about what we do, and even for myself, it is easy to internalize and take on the problems of others and add them to our own stress levels. This is exactly why it is extremely important to focus on self-care and do things to recharge your energy🙏
Put on your own masks before helping others.
The analogy I would always use would be the situation on the plane where the cabin were to lose pressure✈️ We have always been taught to put on our own mask first before helping others put on theirs. Same theory we are talking over here, if you are not getting oxygen, you will not be in the right condition to help others!
Have you ever sat and wondered about the importance of deciding to come to rest, re-evaluate and stay focused on just what exactly matters? To slow down and evaluate what exactly you are doing and where you are going?
Here are some tips to help you to be able to #slowdown and #reevaluate your life!
