Direction VS. Speed - Which is more important?

When I decided to go for a 16km run today, it turned out that I wanted to try out something different, a 16km walk.... But surprisingly, I felt more contented and in tune with my heart, my thoughts, and all things that I have placed aside in the day time due to work.

It then actually made me question myself... All these while, I have been cycling and running to beat my personal best timings, and to get from point A to point B in the fastest time possible, but where am I really going with this? This just felt like a time loop to go through the same thing over and over again without a goal!! Did I really enjoyed those times as I enjoyed tonight's walk? Frankly speaking, the answer is no....

I feel that sometimes in our lives (even for me I admit), we might get too caught up in the destinations of our lives; meeting deadlines, submitting assignments, chasing that next milestone we want, till we forget that one of the best feelings are felt in the moment. Or perhaps we have gotten too accustomed and comfortable to the motion of the same old routinized life for the past few years of our life , till the point we have become lukewarm and numb.

With all these shared, here are some self-reflective questions to ask ourselves

1. Is speed more important? Or is direction more important?

2. What am I really doing with my time daily, and what do I really want out of it?
